Positions Available: Principal Teacher - Permanent

East Park are delighted to advertise these 2 new posts as we continue to grow.  We are a grant-aided special school, providing day and residential placements for children and young people with complex additional support needs, including autism.  Our learners come from all over Scotland, and are aged from 5 to 18.

The right candidates will have extensive experience in education for students who have additional support needs and leading teams, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven track record in implementing curricular developments.

*There will be an opportunity to visit the school before the closing date and meet with the Head of Education on 29 August at 1pm.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operational responsibility for day to day timetabling
  • Line management of identified staff
  • Assess the needs of learners and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support learning
  • Identify students, plan, deliver and evaluate specific intervention programmes for identified students
  • Lead key areas of curricular development
  • Ensure communication between school staff, parents, residential teams and other agencies is highly effective in meeting students' needs and bridging support strategies between school and home
  • Work with staff, learners and parents to ensure pupils are set meaningful targets and monitor and review them appropriately
  • Deputise for the Head of Education
