In June, several East Park pupils and staff members received their John Muir Explorer Award for all the Outdoor Learning they had been participating in during the summer term.  Activities which contributed to the Award included; seed bombing, making bird feeders, going on bird and mini beast hunts, planting bulbs and litter picking.

On return to school after the summer holidays each class has taken part in a class vote to name their class group after a Scottish Native tree. We are excited to reveal the chosen class names as Hawthorne, Pine, Willow and Holly!   This was to develop class identity, support our work around outdoor learning and give young people a chance to participate in a meaningful 'vote'.

We have also been busy in the Den harvesting the vegetables we planted in the summer term.  Thank you Workmates for tending to The Den over the summer holidays! We have lots of potatoes, broad beans, carrots and onions ready to use in the school kitchen. The pumpkins, beetroot and rhubarb are still growing.
