Radio Stars and Footballer Lay our First Brick...

On Wednesday 11th November, Radio Clyde 1's Breakfast Show hosts George Bowie & Cassi along with Hamilton FC player Greg Docherty joined pupil, Liam, in a ceremonial laying of the first brick of the new classrooms and residential accommodation being built at East Park.

Our pupils and students were thrilled to meet the celebrities and share this exciting milestone in the £3 million development of additional classrooms and residential accommodation. The increased facilities will enable us to support more children with complex additional support needs in Scotland that need their specialist services.

East Park Pupil, Liam, who joined the celebrities in laying the first brick, said "It was the best surprise ever to be asked to lay the first brick of the building. It was amazing to meet George Bowie and tell him I am his biggest fan. I was really happy that Cassi remembered me and gave me a big hug hello. I'm looking forward to seeing Greg play for Hamilton FC against Aberdeen soon."

George Bowie said, "Liam's my mate. We met him at the Glasgow Taxi Outing to Troon and we said we'd love to come and help lay the first brick of the new building."

Cassi Gillespie said, "I loved being part of today. East Park is fantastic and the new classrooms and residential accommodation are going to be a great addition to the amazing facilities they have."

Greg Docherty, Hamilton FC footballer, said "It was great to meet Liam and his fellow pupils and be part of this exciting time for East Park".
