Respite centre

East Park's short break service closed in March 2015 to allow for the development of our new service. Initially it had been intended that the service would re-open as part of the new, purpose built residential accommodation. During the period of the closure, following some research into current demand for building-based respite for children, we concluded that the new 2-placement service would be more productively utilised as an extension of the neighbouring 4-placement residential intensive support service. The 2-placement accommodation will be particularly suited to young people on the autism spectrum who benefit from more controlled integration and a particularly low stimulus environment.

As a result of this decision we do not plan to offer a residential respite service for the foreseeable future.
