SHORT BREAKS/
RESPITE SERVICE
Our
residential short break service comprises two flats, each housing four
young people at any given time. This flexible service provides safe,
relaxing and enjoyable breaks within a quality environment. |

We
aim to make residential short breaks a positive choice in the continuum
of care for children and young people with complex learning disabilities. |
|
We
provide flexible packages of support which meet the individually assessed
needs of the young people. |
|
We
work in partnership with young people, their families and carers, social
work, education and health professionals. |
|
We
support families who are caring for a young person with a learning disability
to sustain their role as carers by enabling them to have quality time
apart as well as together. |
|
We
support young people to develop life skills and social skills working
with them and their families to plan for the future. |
|
We
assist the personal and social development of young people by supporting
them to develop life skills and to maintain their current social networks
and recreational interests while introducing them to new activities
and experiences. |
