East Park is a leading provider of specialist residential / education services for children with learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder. We are accredited by the National Autistic Society, Quality Assured by CALM for several years running, and are an SQA Approved Centre.

Position overview

Please note – this post is temporary for 8 months.

East Park is seeking a Deputy Team Leader. Successful applicants will support the Team Leader in all aspects of the management of the residence and the management of the care and support of the resident young people and will deputise in the Team Leader’s absence. In line with the values of Getting it Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) and Curriculum for Excellence (CfE), the Deputy Team Leader will work collaboratively with others, as a member of the team around the child, to promote the well-being of children and young people and to ensure that, for all resident young people, East Park is a safe, nurturing and valuing environment in which to grow and learn.

Candidates are required to be registered with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).   They must have approved qualifications to meet SSSC requirements or commit to achieving those within 5 years of their registration start date. Current SSSC requirements are a qualification at Social Care or Nursing qualifications acceptable to SSSC i.e. equivalent to SVQ4 (or willingness to work towards this). Additionally, experience of working with children / young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, and challenging behaviour would be beneficial.

Pay Rate: up to £18.11 per hour, dependent upon qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include flexible shift patterns, health cover, pension scheme, and our own training department which supports learning and progression.
