East Park, a Grant Aided Special School in Glasgow, is a leading provider of specialist day and residential education services for children with complex needs, including Autism.

Position overview

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic fundraiser to deliver on our fundraising and marketing strategy. You will work towards meeting targets for income generation from various fundraising streams such as trusts and foundations, corporate support, individual giving, community and events. You must be an excellent communicator with the skills and experience to motivate and influence existing and prospective supporters of East Park. You will work with colleagues across East Park to raise our profile and develop improved communication channels to promote and showcase the organisation. You will also be responsible for a number of day to day administrative and stewardships tasks.

The successful postholder will initially work with our current Fundraiser until December 2022, and will then be solely responsible for East Park’s fundraising activities to cover for a period of maternity leave. You will therefore require to be a quick learner, and be able to work independently to meet our fundraising and marketing targets and objectives. This is an exciting time to be part of East Park’s achievements as we plan for the celebration of our 150th anniversary in 2024.

This is a full time post (37.5hrs pw), and it is anticipated that it will be for an initial period of one year. You may be required to work outside normal office hours on occasion and undertake some travel within the Glasgow area.

Key Responsibilities:

To lead on the development of the fundraising strategy, focussing on Trust and Foundations, corporate sponsorship and community fundraising strands.

To monitor and report progress against targets and objectives as required throughout the year.

Prepare funding applications for relevant approved projects.

Prioritise opportunities and projects in meeting the core objective of the development plan.

Excellent stewardship and partnership working with funders, maintaining strong and positive relationships and support for the organisation.

Fulfil reporting requirements according to the needs of each funder.

In conjunction with colleagues, support small fundraising and awareness raising events, which underpin the objectives of the development plan.

Representing East Park by attending and participating in external events and activities.

Working across the organisation, to support the school, workmates and residential accommodation, in their fundraising and awareness raising initiatives.

Ensure that all fundraising information is up to date and available on the East Park system.

Manage the existing network of volunteers, liaising with colleagues across East Park to ensure appropriate work is identified and support given.

Working closely with the Finance and Administration Teams, to maximise the potential of gift aid to East Park.

To scan for statutory funds availability.

Research new Trusts through the use of available resources such as online databases, annual reports, third sector publications etc.
